Loren Kimura Named President, CEO of Basic American Foods
Walnut Creek, CA—May 29, 2007—Loren Kimura has been named President and CEO of Basic American Foods, one of the world’s leading suppliers of convenience foods. A 21-year veteran of the company, Kimura was previously Vice President, Sales.
Well-known in the industry, Kimura’s extensive management experience at Basic American Foods includes marketing, sales, logistics, research and development. Over the years, he served as Vice President of: Corporate Accounts; Sales and Logistics; and Marketing and Development; and Marketing and Logistics. During that time he managed the company’s foodservice, industrial, international and contract manufacturing business. Kimura joined Basic American Foods in 1986 as Director of Marketing. Prior to that, he was with Nestlé Foods Corporation, as product manager for Taster’s Choice coffee. Kimura holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Northwestern University, and an MBA from Boston University.
Kimura’s new role takes effect this week; previous CEO Dan Hatch leaves to join his family business in Idaho.
